BMO from Adventure Time

So you might have seen my Jake and Finn patterns on Etsy, and now the family from Adventure Time gets even bigger! This tiny BMO is the perfect size for a keychain or backpack companion on your own adventures.

This BMO isn’t part of the Jake and Finn set, so size-wise they don’t fit. But the basics are very easy and you can make your BMO bigger by simply adding stitches and rows.

Materials

Crochet hook 2.5mm
Jade yarn (I used Phildar Coton 3: 255 Piscine)
Light blue yarn (I used SMC Catania: 385)
Small bits of black, red, yellow, green and blue yarn
Stuffing
Scissor
Yarn needle

Arms (make 2)

Use jade yarn to chain 9.
Row 1-2: 8 sc, 1 ch, turn.
Finish off leaving a long tail, fold row 1 to row 2 and sew together over the length of the arm.

Assembly

Sew the two sides to the front in a stretched “U” like this: |______|
Embroider details to the face.
Sew the face to the front and use the colored yarn to make details below the face.
Sew the top and bottom to the front and sides.
Use black yarn to embroider the letters “BMO” to the sides, so that it is readable when BMO is laying on his back.
Sew the back to the sides, top and bottom and don’t forget to stuff.
Sew the arms in the holes of the “O” on both sides, sew the legs to the bottom.
Optional: sew a keychain to the top.

And that’s all! Like I said, easy to enlarge by adding rows and stitches, but make sure to keep the dimensions right. If you want to share your work with me, use @nerdwithyarn or #nerdwithyarn on Instagram 🙂
